Clinical Services

I strive to help individuals recognize and use their strengths to shift their perspectives, overcome challenges, and find balance. While the results of therapy can never be guaranteed, many of my patients have experienced personal growth that they find significant and sometimes surprising. Whether in short-term treatment (e.g., CBT, ERP) or therapy for longstanding concerns (e.g., psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems), my objective is always for my patients to leave with a better ability to tackle personal adversities and a greater sense of themselves.
I am trained and have experience treating many emotional, behavioral, and personality disorders but my expertise is helping people suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, traumatic experience, and relationship/family conflict. Together, we can choose to focus on managing and minimizing these experiences or we can choose to additionally explore the larger context in which these difficulties emerged. To this end, I have helped people facing transitional difficulties related to adolescence and early adulthood, pre-, peri- and postpartum periods, parenthood and issues that arise in multicultural, interracial and intergenerational relationships. I balance my focus on an individual with the larger societal context from which they developed and the societal context in which they presently live. I am LGBTQI+ affirming.
Choosing a therapist for yourself or your teen can be intimidating. The aim is finding a good fit. I will listen to your concerns and work with you to develop a plan tailored to your preferences or help you to find a better fit elsewhere, while maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment.

New and Expecting Parents

Becoming a parent is a major life transition that can elicit an array of unexpected emotional experiences, both positive and challenging. Most new parents face at least a few novel demands requiring new skills and some find the addition of a child can stir up dormant insecurities from relationships with their own parents. I enjoy working with new parents and can help you to find your identity as a parent, address intergenerational relational problems or find balance between parenting and the rest of your life. I also treat postpartum depression, anxiety and OCD in both childbearing women and their non-childbearing partners.
