Payment
PAYMENTS
Payment for appointments conducted in-person are accepted in the form of cash, personal check or Zelle. Telehealth services can be paid using Zelle. All payments are due at the time of service. Credit cards are not accepted at this time.
COST OF SERVICE
The cost varies depending on the service provided and the length of the session. Many employer-based insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that reduce the overall burden of cost to the member, in some cases, significantly so. See below for more information on out-of-network benefits. Please use the contact form from this site or email me directly at [email protected] for information about pricing.
OUT-OF-NETWORK INSURANCE BENEFITS
If you have health insurance, you can contact your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health coverage, often referred to as behavioral health benefits. Insurance plans that offer out-of-network benefits reimburse their members a portion of the cost of each session, sometimes after meeting a deductible. Many insurance companies do not call attention to these benefits even when they are provided to their members. To find out if you have out-of-network reimbursement, call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:
SUBMITTING OUT-OF-NETWORK CLAIMS
When you use out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a monthly invoice for services paid-in-full called a Superbill. Superbills include the information required by most insurance companies to request out-of-network reimbursement. Depending on the company you use, you may be able to submit the Superbill directly and electronically with no forms to complete and nothing to mail. Your insurance company will reimburse you according to your specific plan.
SELF PAY
Those who do not have out-of-network benefits can self-pay and are encouraged to ask about sliding scale fee options before your first appointment. Reduced rates are available for a limited number of appointments based on demonstrated financial need.

- Do I have out-of-network behavioral health benefits?
- Is there an out-of-network deductible? If so:
- How much is the deductible?
- Is the deductible renewed annually or is it a one-time deductible?
- Will I be reimbursed a flat fee for each service or a percentage of the cost?
- If a percentage is covered, is this a percentage of the fee set by my provider or is it a percentage of a maximum fee set by the insurer? If a standard maximum fee, what is that fee?
- How much can I expect to be reimbursed when seeing a psychologist for a 45 minute therapy session [or insert the session type]? (If you are asked for the CPT code by the insurance representative, the code for 40-50 minutes of individual therapy is 90834.)
- Are the benefits the same for telehealth sessions or do the rates change if the services are provided remotely?
